The Story
Behind SLI
Shine Leadership International was founded out of a deep passion to address the growing challenges affecting young people across Africa, particularly unemployment, lack of direction, limited mentorship, low confidence, and inadequate preparation for the realities of life and work.
The journey began through a mentorship initiative created to provide guidance, mentorship, and personal development support to young people navigating life, education, career, and personal growth challenges.
This vision was deeply shaped by the founder's own journey growing up with many questions about life, purpose, career, and growth, yet limited access to mentors or safe spaces for guidance and support. Like many young people, she had to navigate life through mistakes, resilience, self discovery, and continuous learning.
As the mentorship initiative grew, it became clear that many educated young people possessed talents, ideas, and potential, yet lacked the mindset, practical skills, mentorship, and opportunities needed to unlock that potential and thrive.
In response to this growing need, the initiative evolved into a registered non profit organization under the name Shine Leadership International, dedicated to mindset transformation, mentorship, leadership development, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, career guidance, and work readiness skills.
Shine Leadership International works alongside schools, universities, communities, mentors, institutions, and development partners to nurture self aware, employable, entrepreneurial, financially literate, and socially responsible young leaders creating sustainable impact.
