Grant Writer for Shine Leadership International

Position: Grant Writer

Location: Remote / Uganda
Job Type: Part-Time Contract
Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Summary

Shine Leadership International is a dynamic youth-focused organization committed to empowering young people with relevant work readiness skills. We are seeking a highly skilled Grant Writer to help secure funding for our impactful programs that shape the future of youth in Uganda and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in grant writing, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Research and identify new grant opportunities aligned with Shine Leadership International’s mission and programs.

·       Write compelling and well-researched grant proposals to secure funding for Shine’s programs.

·       Develop and maintain a grant work plan to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports

·       Develop budgets and detailed project plans for grant proposals.

·       Maintain a tracking system for grants, ensuring timely submissions and reporting.

·       Build relationships with funders and stakeholders to stay informed about funding opportunities and priorities

·       Track and report on grant outcomes and progres

·       Assist in creating compelling narratives and case studies for reports and funding requests.

·       Ensure compliance with all donor requirements and guidelines.

·       Collaborate with program staff to develop program ideas, research proposals and budgets

·       Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in grant writing

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) and success in grant writing and securing funding preferably for nonprofit organizations or youth development programs.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify and assess new funding opportunities.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and compelling proposals.
  • Knowledge of the Ugandan nonprofit sector and international funding landscapes is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under supervision
  • A passion for youth development and Shine Leadership International’s mission.
  • Ability to set targets, meet deadlines and work under pressure

·       Certification in grant writing and Scientific writing
